上面提到的那个有权势的贵族首领（季孙氏），在结束祭祀活动的时候，吟诵了一首仅限于在皇家祭祀使用的诗。孔子对此做出评论，说：“这首诗的开头是，‘王公贵族拥簇在四周，天子显得威严无比。’难道在这个贵族的祠堂中，可以用这首诗的这几句来描述吗？”
