子路曰：“君子尚勇乎？”子曰：“君子义以为上。君子有勇而无义为乱，小人有勇而无义为盗。”
辜讲
孔子的学生，勇猛的仲由（子路）问：“勇猛对一位绅士来说，难倒不是一种美德吗？”
“一位绅士，”孔子回答，“将正直的事情推崇为最重要的事情。一位勇士，如果没有知识，热爱正直的事情，很可能去犯罪。百姓中，如果有人只有勇气，而缺乏知识和对正直的热爱，则很有可能成为强盗。”
