当孔子第一次在国家教堂（太庙：代天子供奉祖先的祠堂）任职的时候，在祭祀的每一个阶段，都会问别人自己该怎么做。马上就有人议论，“是谁告诉我从鄹 这个地方来的平民的儿子也是懂得正确的礼法的呢？”当孔子听到这样的评论时，他说：“这就是正确的礼法。”
